An eighteenth-century teak palace built for Tipu Sultan.
Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace is a two-storey structure built largely in teak, completed in 1791. Its ornamental pillars, arches and balconies are the main attraction, and traces of the original floral decoration survive on the walls and ceilings.
A small museum on the ground floor covers Tipu Sultan's reign. The palace is compact and can be seen in under an hour, often combined with a visit to the nearby Bangalore Fort.
Located near KR Market in the older part of the city. Krishna Rajendra Market metro station on the Green Line is nearby.
