Bannerghatta National Park

A national park on the city's southern edge with a zoo and safari.

Bannerghatta National Park covers a large stretch of forest south of Bangalore and combines a national park with a biological park, zoo, butterfly enclosure and safari.

The safari is the main draw, taking visitors through separate enclosures for herbivores, lions, tigers and bears. It is a popular family day trip, and mornings are usually better for animal sightings.

How to reach Bannerghatta National Park

Reached by road via Bannerghatta Road. BMTC buses run from the city, and cabs take roughly an hour from central Bangalore depending on traffic.
