A large lake between Hyderabad and Secunderabad with a monolithic Buddha statue.

Hussain Sagar is a sixteenth-century artificial lake connecting Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Its best-known feature is the large monolithic Buddha statue standing on a platform in the middle of the water.

Boat rides run out to the statue, and the surrounding area includes Necklace Road, Lumbini Park and NTR Gardens. It is a popular evening spot, particularly for the lit-up skyline views across the water.

How to reach Hussain Sagar Lake

Central and easily reached by road. The Necklace Road area is the usual access point for boating and the promenade.
