Palolem Beach, Goa — Apna Basera

Palolem is a curving, palm-fringed bay in South Goa's Canacona taluk, generally considered the most popular South Goa beach while still being noticeably calmer than the North Goa strip. Its sheltered, gently shelving water makes it good for swimming and kayaking, and boat trips from here reach nearby Butterfly Beach and dolphin-spotting waters. Because Goa's statewide rule bans amplified music in open spaces after 10pm, Palolem's nightlife runs on "silent discos" — the crowd dances wearing wireless headphones — a distinctive local workaround and now an attraction in its own right.

How to reach Palolem Beach

Best reached by car, taxi or scooter via NH66 south to Canacona. Canacona railway station on the Konkan Railway is a short taxi ride from the beach.
