Old Goa church adjoining Se Cathedral, with an attached archaeological museum.
← Back to GoaThe Church of St. Francis of Assisi stands immediately next to Se Cathedral in the Old Goa complex and is included in the same UNESCO World Heritage listing. Originally built in the 16th century and later reconstructed, it combines Portuguese-Gothic and Manueline architectural elements, with an interior of wood-carved altars and frescoed panels depicting the life of St. Francis. The adjoining convent building now houses the Archaeological Museum of Goa, with sculpture, portraiture and inscriptions from the Portuguese and pre-Portuguese periods.
