Basukinath Temple, roughly 44 km from Baidyanath Dham on the Deoghar-Dumka highway, is considered the second most important Shiva temple in the region and is traditionally visited as a pair with Baidyanath Dham — pilgrims often carry the same Ganga water offered at both. Its Shiva and Parvati shrines face each other, and legend holds the two deities meet each evening once the gates close.
