By road: well connected to Delhi (~343 km) and Chandigarh (~113 km) by bus and taxi.

Local Transport
Much of central Shimla around the Mall and Ridge is pedestrian-only, so expect to walk. Local taxis and the Mall lift (Cart Road to Mall level) help with the steep gradients; hired cabs are best for out-of-town spots like Kufri.
RailwayShimla railway station is the terminus of the narrow-gauge Kalka–Shimla railway (a UNESCO World Heritage line). Kalka, the broad-gauge junction connecting to Delhi and Chandigarh, is the main railhead for onward mainline trains.
