How to Get to Shimla
By air
Shimla Airport at Jubbarhatti has limited and weather-sensitive services; Chandigarh is the more dependable major-airport gateway, followed by a hill-road transfer.
By train
Shimla is the terminus of the narrow-gauge Kalka–Shimla railway. Kalka is the principal broad-gauge connection for Delhi and other mainline routes.
By bus and road
HRTC and private buses connect Shimla with Chandigarh, Delhi and Himachal towns through the main inter-state bus terminals; confirm the exact terminal printed on the ticket.
Always use the terminal and boarding point printed on the latest ticket; similarly named stations can be far apart.
