Manikarnika Ghat, Varanasi

Manikarnika Ghat is Varanasi's main cremation ghat, where funeral pyres burn continuously and Hindu tradition holds that dying or being cremated here grants moksha (liberation from the cycle of rebirth). Visitors are welcome to observe respectfully from a distance, but photography is not appropriate here.
