Haji Ali Dargah

A mosque and tomb on an islet, connected to the mainland by a causeway visible only at low tide.

← Back to Mumbai

Haji Ali Dargah houses the tomb of the Muslim saint Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari on a small islet about 500 yards offshore in the Arabian Sea. A narrow causeway connects it to the mainland, submerged at high tide, making the walk out itself part of the experience.

How to reach Haji Ali Dargah

Reachable by auto or cab to the Haji Ali causeway entrance, then a walk of a few hundred metres across the causeway (tide-dependent).
