Built in 1924 to commemorate the 1911 visit of King George V and Queen Mary, the Gateway of India is Mumbai's defining landmark, standing on the waterfront in Colaba next to the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. It's the departure point for ferries to Elephanta Island and one of the city's busiest sunset spots.

How to reach Gateway of India

Nearest stations are Churchgate and CST; autos, cabs and the local train network all serve Colaba easily.
