Fort St George, Chennai

Fort St George, completed in 1644 by the British East India Company, was the first English fortress in India and the seat of the old Madras Presidency. Today it houses the Fort Museum, with a collection of colonial-era uniforms, manuscripts, paintings, letters and coins.
