How to Get to Shillong
By air
Shillong Airport at Umroi has limited services. Guwahati Airport is the main gateway for most visitors, followed by a road transfer via Umiam.
By train
Guwahati is the nearest major railhead; Meghalaya has no railway station in central Shillong.
By bus and road
Government buses, shared sumos and private vehicles connect Guwahati and Shillong. Confirm whether the drop is at Police Bazaar, ISBT or another stand.
Always use the terminal and boarding point printed on the latest ticket; similarly named stations can be far apart.
