How to Get to Munnar
By air
Cochin International Airport is the main gateway, with a long road transfer into the Western Ghats. Madurai is an alternative for some Tamil Nadu itineraries.
By train
Aluva and Ernakulam are commonly used Kerala railheads; there is no railway station in Munnar, so the final journey is by road.
By bus and road
KSRTC and private buses connect Munnar with Kochi, Aluva, Kottayam, Thekkady and regional towns, though services may be slower than private transfers.
Always use the terminal and boarding point printed on the latest ticket; similarly named stations can be far apart.
