How to Get to Gangtok
By air
Pakyong Airport has limited, weather-sensitive operations. Bagdogra Airport is the more widely used gateway, followed by a long road transfer.
By train
New Jalpaiguri is the principal mainline railhead for Gangtok, with onward taxi or shared-vehicle travel through the Teesta valley.
By bus and road
Government and shared vehicles connect Gangtok with Siliguri and other Sikkim towns. Use registered operators and confirm permit requirements before booking protected routes.
Always use the terminal and boarding point printed on the latest ticket; similarly named stations can be far apart.
