How to Reach Dharamshala

By air

Kangra Airport at Gaggal is the nearest airport with limited flights; Chandigarh and Amritsar are more distant alternatives.

By train

Pathankot is the main broad-gauge railhead. Kangra Valley narrow-gauge stations serve the region but are slower and subject to current operations.

By bus and road

State and private buses connect Dharamshala with Delhi, Chandigarh and Himachal towns. Confirm whether the service terminates in lower Dharamshala or McLeod Ganj.

Always use the terminal and boarding point printed on the latest ticket; similarly named stations can be far apart.
