Delhi has the most varied nightlife in northern India, spread across several distinct districts rather than concentrated in one.
Hauz Khas Village is the best-known — a warren of rooftop bars, live-music venues and restaurants overlooking a medieval reservoir and tomb complex. Loud, young and crowded at weekends.
Connaught Place offers everything from long-running colonial-era bars to modern clubs, all within a walkable circle in the centre of the city.
Aerocity, near the airport, has the highest concentration of upmarket hotel bars and lounges — the polished end of the scene, popular with business travellers.
Greater Kailash, Saket and Vasant Kunj hold the mall-and-microbrewery crowd, with a strong craft beer scene that has grown substantially. Gurugram, just across the border in Haryana, runs later and looser than Delhi proper.
Most venues in Delhi close by around 1am under licensing rules, though hotel bars sometimes run later. The legal drinking age in Delhi is 21, having been reduced from 25 in 2021. Note that neighbouring Haryana (Gurugram) and Uttar Pradesh (Noida) set their own rules, so check locally if you cross into the NCR.
For non-drinking evenings, the illuminated monuments are the draw — India Gate stays busy late, Akshardham runs an evening water show, and Dilli Haat has crafts and regional food into the night.
