About Tsomgo (Changu) Lake
Tsomgo (Changu) Lake, at around 3,750 m on the road towards Nathula, is a glacial lake sacred to local communities, its surface freezing in winter and reflecting the surrounding peaks in warmer months. Yak rides and a small market operate near the shore. As it lies in a restricted border zone, visits require a permit arranged through registered local operators.
