About Mahabaleshwar Temple & Old Kshetra
The old Mahabaleshwar (Kshetra Mahabaleshwar) area, a few km from the main town, holds the ancient Mahabaleshwar Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and the Panchganga Temple, from which the Krishna and several other rivers are traditionally said to rise. The stone temples and their setting give the town its older, sacred dimension.
