Jaipur, Rajasthan's Pink City, combines a planned eighteenth-century walled city, royal palaces, astronomical heritage, hill forts, craft traditions and a major place on India's Golden Triangle route.

The principal experiences include Hawa Mahal, City Palace Jaipur, Jantar Mantar Jaipur, Amer Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort.

Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II founded Jaipur in 1727 and planned it with Vidyadhar Bhattacharya. The city expanded beyond its ceremonial bazaars while retaining the City Palace, Jantar Mantar and fortified landscape of the Kachwaha rulers.

Jaipur has very hot summers, a short monsoon and dry, pleasant winters. Day–night temperature differences can be noticeable in winter, while May and June heat makes exposed forts demanding.

Jaipur Metro is useful between parts of the walled city and western corridor. City buses, e-rickshaws, autos, cabs and hired cars cover forts and places beyond the line.

Group nearby attractions together and avoid unnecessary cross-city journeys during peak hours.

Teej, Gangaur, Diwali, Holi, Jaipur Literature Festival and seasonal cultural fairs bring processions, performances, crowds and changing access.

Dates change annually. Expect crowd controls and traffic diversions, and observe worship and processions respectfully.
