Naini Lake is the shimmering crescent-shaped freshwater lake around which the town of Nainital is built. Boating — by pedal boat, rowboat or yacht — is the classic Nainital experience, with the hills reflected in the water. The Naina Devi temple sits on its northern shore and the lively Mall Road runs along one side.
