Doddabetta, at around 2,637 m, is the highest peak in the Nilgiri hills and offers sweeping views over Ooty and the surrounding ranges. A telescope house at the summit lets visitors take in distant vistas on clear days. The short drive up through shola forest is scenic in itself.
