The Chail Palace, built in the late 19th century by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala as his summer retreat, is a grand colonial-era residence set in extensive wooded grounds. Now run as a heritage hotel, its architecture, lawns and forest setting are the centrepiece of Chail.
